Sessions providing training in public speaking
through delivery of prepared and impromptu speeches. Student's guide
includes material on speech structure, vocal delivery, using gestures,
lexicography, round-table and panel discussions plus a description of the
traditional, group approach to class presentation. The instructor's
guide is intended for a single-instructor presentation approach and includes
all of the above material plus a detailed outline for conducting each session
of the program. Student manual includes certificate of
certification. CPIW/M and DAE qualifier.

Advanced
Communication Skills
This course focuses on how to write an informative and interesting speech to
grab your audience and hold their attention plus how to deliver the speech
effectively by understanding your audience and using appropriate body
language. Learn how and when to use visual aids as well as how to use the
group dynamic to interact with your audience. Know how to comfortably deal
with the unforeseeable technical difficulty, the annoying heckler, or ringing
cell phones. This is a 6 hour course and must be given in its entirety to
receive credit towards either CPIW/M or DAE

Sharing for Mutual Rewards
Series of eight sessions to assess need for and
qualifications to become a mentor. Includes history and purposes of mentoring;
descriptions of several formal mentoring programs; information about the
benefits, responsibilities and concerns for mentors/protégés; describes NAIW
and mentoring; and lists the steps in establishing a formal mentoring program.
Also includes self-assessment tools, discussion questions and quotes about
mentoring by NAIW members who have been in mentoring relationships.
Facilitator's guide includes all the above, plus a detailed outline for
conducting the sessions. Certificate of completion included.
