IPOCO’s regular monthly meeting was held at Claddagh,
Columbus, Ohio.

Topic: Pre-planning Funeral Arrangements
The meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. by President
Sherry Distelhorst
Pledge of Allegiance/Collect: Heidi Kugler
Resume of Correspondence-Stacey Nichols
Stacey announced that spare key chains are needed for the
Homeless Families Foundation. Margaret
Wildi is currently collecting them for the families who are receiving their
apartment keys.
Treasurer’s Report-Diana Howell
Diana read the Treasurer’s report for the time period of
February 4, 2010 through March 4, 2010. The
report will be filed for audit. If
any member wants a copy contact Diana. Diana
noted that the board voted to extend the current CD for another six month
period.
Bylaws Report-Heidi Kugler
Heidi announced that the board discussed the proposed
Standing Rule 27, and decided to withdraw it.
The board will continue to advise if meetings are cancelled and give as
much notice to those with reservations as possible.
Audit and Budget-Angie Schmitt-no report
Communications Report-Angie advised that the next bulletin
deadline is March 15th.
Safety-Michelle Ackermann
Michelle reported that $150 is being used to purchase
coloring books for the police department. Another
$150 will be donated to the Firefighters Memorial Fund.
Community Service Report-Karen Lawson
Karen thanked Heidi for arranging the evening’s guest
speaker. Margaret Wildi took all if
the pens, paper and other items donated to the Literacy Council.
The Easter candy is courtesy of Margaret, and the brochures are for
National Women’s History Month.
Education-Kon Chittavong
Vikki Angelo reported in Kon’s absence that two $500
scholarships will be given. The
Griffith Foundation is currently making their decisions.
Membership-Julie Williams
Julie reported that the brochure will be ready for IDAY.
New Business
The Nominating Committee will be headed by Theresa
Marut-Orenchuk. Vikki Angelo and
Stacey Nichols will serve on the committee.
The slate was passed.
Bylaws-Sherry noted that the majority of the changes to
NAIW’s bylaws are cosmetic changes. Angie,
Heidi and Sherry are reviewing them and will represent IPOCO at the conference
and will discuss any concerns we may have about proposed changes.
Margaret Wildi added that there will most likely be no changes to the
regions.
Announcements:
Region IV Conference is March 18-21. Anyone interested in a ride-share contact Sherry.
Ohio Insurance Education Day is March 24. Scholarships will be presented this day.
Ohio Council Education Day is April 30-May 1
Ohio Council Director’s visit will be at the May 6th dinner meeting
NAIW National Conference is June 9-12.
Margaret will be installed during this conference.
