IPOCO’S regular monthly meeting was held at the Grange Training Center, Gahanna, Ohio.

Speaker:  Lavawn Coleman, Attorney with Grange Insurance. 

MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: 7:45 p.m. by President Sherry Distelhorst. 

Treasurer – Diana Howell

Read the Treasurer’s Report and this will be filed for audit.  If any member wants a copy contact Diana. 

Secretary – Theresa Fagan-Smith

Absent and duties were covered by Karen Lawson. 

Communications – Angie Schmitt

Bulletin deadline is Oct 15^th, 2008

Angie reported the IPOCO website will be available soon.  The new website address is NAIW-IPOCO.org 

Bylaws – President Elect Heidi Kugler

The committee continues to work on the development of the job description book.  Upon completion, it will be posted on the website.  The next project will involve reviewing and updating the bylaws. 

Community Service –Caroline Barnes Weygandt

Caroline attended the open house for the Columbus Literacy Council.  She has an information booklet about the program to share. 

Education/Legislation – Vikki Angelo  

Vikki announced there has been some interest in another CWC course. If anyone is interested please let Vikki know so she can try to schedule the 10 hour class course in the near future. 

Membership – Kon Chittavong

Kon announced that as of last month’s meeting, we have 32 members.  He is in the process of developing a spreadsheet of current members.  This will assist with matching “seasoned” members with “new” members for the mentoring program, which we plan to initiate this year. 

Safety – Theresa Fagan Smith

No report. 

Special Committees:

Employment – Linda Hughes

No Report. 

Audit/Budget/Finance – Pat Johnson

Pat has audited the books for the period of 1/1/08 to 6/30/08 and found them in order.  Motion was made to approve the report – passed. 

Regional conference 2008 – Vikki Angelo/Heidi Kugler  

Vikki said they will soon be closing the books on the conference.
